Combination Acne
Combination Acne is both Inflamed and Non-Inflamed Acne.
When BOTH inflamed breakouts AND non-inflamed congestion occur together, it is called Combination Acne. This type of acne is the MOST STUBBORN in that it often requires a combination of strategies to get clear skin.
How to Clear Up Combination Acne
- Begin by learning and applying the Clear Skin Rules.
- Schedule regular acne facials focusing on the health of skin, light exfoliation, and focus on extracting the congestion (non-inflamed buildup) under the skin.
- Learn the science behind acne formation to understand why it takes 6-8+ months to get clear.
- Work with a Naturopath, Eastern Medicine Practitioner, or Dietician (possibly a combination of these practitioners) to help the systemic influences (i.e. hormones, allergies, diet, etc.). These specialists will help each client reduce systemic inflammatory imbalances through dietary changes, supplements, or treatments like Acupuncture or Acupressure.
- Commit to following our acne strategy with the proper “active” skincare to keep skin learning and to keep skin in prevention of acne formation while allowing acne to clear.
- Stay focused on the end goal. Extra patience, extra time, and extra strategy is required for this type of acne (see #4 above). Once skin is clear, maintaining clear skin will be easier than it is to get clear but will prove to be worth the effort.
- Maintain your routine and Clear Skin Rules to keep skin clear.
