The Acne Lab Concept:
The Acne Lab (TAL) focuses on the education and application of the Clear Skin Rules and the science behind why there is a 4-8 month timeline (depending on acne type and application/adherence to the Clear Skin Rules) required to get clear skin.
Acne is a challenging skin condition. There is no simple, one-size-fits-all or one-product-does-it-all solution. TAL cares deeply that clients learn to understand their skin and how to work with their skin condition to both get clear and stay clear. We promote and encourage a lot of education before the purchase to help clients decide if this is the right path to pursue and as a result we have a limited return policy.
Skincare 101 purchases
The 5 product bundle (cleanser, toner, hydrator, moisturizer, spf)

Unopened/unused bundle of all 5 products can be returned within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. The customer pays for return shipping.

Gently-used Skincare 101 bundles can also be returned within 30 days of purchase for a full refund if any notable irritation has been documented due to the use of Skincare 101. All 5 Skincare 101 products need to be included with a return due to skin irritation.

Products that are more than 50% used will not be refunded but would need to be included in the return to issue the refund of remaining qualifying products.

Return information must include customer name and include the receipt of purchase.

Refunds will be issued for all qualifying products within 5 business days of receiving the return.
Damages and issues:
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Non-returnable / non-refundable items:

We do not accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

We do not accept the return of individual Skincare 101 products unless to exchange for any damaged or incorrect item.
Refunding purchases:
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 5 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at info@theacnelab.com.
Active Skincare Products
In addition to the Skincare 101 line, The Acne Lab also offers products with active ingredients to clear and prevent acne. These products should only be purchased with the recommendation of a Skin Specialist.

Non-refundable: If you buy a product without the recommendation of our Skin Specialists, your purchase is nonrefundable.

Refundable: If you purchased active skincare product(s) because of the recommendation of a Skin Specialist, and the product(s) are being used per the direction of the Skin Specialist but are causing excessive dryness/irritation, product(s) can be returned or exchanged within 30 days of the purchase.
